About this tool
Free online microphone check
A bad mic setup is the number one reason speech tools feel broken. This free mic test online runs entirely in your browser: pick an input, run a quick microphone check with live levels, frequency view, and quality rating. Nothing is uploaded.
What this tool checks
- Input level meter so you can see whether the mic is too quiet or clipping
- Frequency view — helpful for a headset mic test or built-in mic
- Device details after you grant permission (label and device id)
- Quality rating — a quick microphone setup test based on signal strength and clipping
- Mic test with 3-second playback so you can hear yourself locally
When to use it
Use this page before trying speech to text or live speech to text. If levels stay flat, fix permissions or device selection first instead of blaming transcription.
It is also useful before Zoom, Teams, or recording — test microphone on Windows or Mac before your next call.
Privacy and local processing
Audio stays on your device. We do not record, store, or transmit your voice to UBIK Flow servers. The playback sample never leaves your browser.
Tips for a healthy signal
Speak at a normal volume about 15 to 30 cm from the mic. Close other apps that might lock the microphone. On laptop mics, avoid covering the grille. If the rating stays low, try an external USB mic or headset.
